Targetware: Scenario Development

Scenario Designer User's Guide

The Main Screen

After the mod has been loaded into memory, the main editing screen will appear. This screen is the heart of the Scenario Designer, and it's where you will spend 99% of your time when making scenarios. The left part of the window is used to enter and adjust data, while the right side is reserved for the map and its functions.

Main Editing Screen

The three menus across the top of the left side text area control what section of the scenario you are editing (Scenario, Team, Victory Conditions, Missions, Units, Targets). Many of the items on the left side are adjustable by typing, clicking checkboxes, or selecting from drop-down menus, but some can be entered for you automatically by clicking on the map.

The right side of the window is dedicated to the map and its tools. The Map can display a map of the entire terrain, or it can display higher resolution, smaller-scale maps of individual sections of the terrain, even of specific airfields. The map display is not static--a variety of tactical and scenario-specific information can be displayed as an overlay to the map texture. For example, air units, gun emplacements, ground vehicles, ships, and buildings can all be displayed in the positions they will be seen in-game.
