Chat and Radio Usage
There are four basic chat options in Targetware.
Pressing any of these opens the chat buffer. After
opening the buffer, type the text you wish then press
Enter to send it.
| Chat to All |
T |
| Chat to Team |
Y |
| Chat to Unit |
U |
| Chat to Squad |
R |
An example of how that appears in game.
Private Radio Tuning
You can create up to 8 private radio channels to
send messages to specifically named players. To create
a private
radio tuning, open the chat buffer (T),
and enter:
| .radio |
Displays all radio tunings |
| .radio [channel] |
Clears a radio tuning |
| .radio [channel] [user(s)] |
Creates a radio tuning to users on the radio
number. (Note: either a space or a comma can be
used to separate usernames). |
To send a message to private radio tuning,
press the key assigned to that radio. By
default, radio channels 1 through 4 are assigne
to CTRL+1 through CTRL+4.
Example:
.radio 1 yak, bloo, au: sets radio list
1 to yak, bloo and au. Press CTRL+1
to send to those players.
.radio 2 sick yt: sets radio list
2 to sick and yt. Press CTRL+2
to send to those players.
Radio and Chat Key Mapping
In the [Chat] section of keyboard.txt,
the key press for radios, and the other chat functions,
can be assigned. The defaults are:
[Chat]
All = T
Team = Y
Unit = U
Squad = R
Count = 5 [this specifies the number of
radios]
Radio 1 = CTRL+1
Radio 2 = CTRL+2
Radio 3 = CTRL+3
Radio 4 = CTRL+4
Squelching Other Players
You can control which players you receive communications
from.
| .squelch = [player A, player
B, etc.] |
This will prevent you from receiving
chat messages from the players named. For example,
".squelch yak, bloo" will stop either
of them from chatting to you. |
| .unsquelch = [player] |
Removes players from your Squelch list. |
Dot Commands
You can enter commands though the console. Simply
open the chat console by pressing T, then type a
dot (period) and the specific command and parameters
you need to enter. For a list of the available
dot commands and their functions, please refer to Buffer 'Dot' Commands. Below is an
example of the .scenario command in use. |
