Gun Options
Gun Options (Convergence, Belting, and Triggers)
Players can now set and preserve some of their favorite
aircraft customizations.
Gun Convergence
Using this command, you can set the distance at which
rounds from your planes guns should cross paths. Convergence
settings for each plane are saved in Options.txt.
.conv <number>: All guns set to Number convergence.
.conv <number1> <number2>: Sets the convergence
for gun#1 to range #2 meters.
Example: ".conv 400" sets all guns to convergence
400 meters in front of the aircraft.
Belts
You can belt different ammunition types for your aircraft, though this is limited
by the types of ammunition available to the particular weapon. Those limitations
are detailed in the .ACM files for each weapon.
.belt: show all belt listings for each gun
.belt <belt list>: tries to set all guns to that belting
.belt <number> <belt list>: tries to set gun
number to that belt list
Belting Language
The format for ammunition belting language is very specific. Incorrect belting
language is ignored and the defaults are used.
2 APIT, 1 API, 3 AP: Fires rounds from the belt in that
order
50 (APIT, 3 API), API: Fires 1 APIT then 3 API 50 times (total
200) and then 1 API.
50 (APIT, 3 API), 100 API: Fires 1 APIT then 3 API 50 times
(total 200) and then 100 API.
Example: ".belt 1 2 apit, 1 api, 3 ap"
sets #1 guns to fire rounds in that order>
Types of Ammunition:
There are several different ammunition types available. Some of these are often
combined, such as APIT, API, APHE, HEIT, etc. The types of ammunition available
for each weapon are determined by that weapons .ACM file.
- AP: Armor Piercing
- HE: High Explosive
- I: Incendiary
- T: Tracer
- Ball: Ball
Options.txt
Custom aircraft settings regarding weapons are now
saved in the new file Options.txt.
Your convergence and belt settings for a specific
plane will always be used when you fly that plane.
Aircraft load out options for ordnance and drop tanks
will be used when the scenario does not restrict them.
Example:
[/tr/planes/f4u-1d.acm]
options = 1, 4, 1
convergence 1 = 300
belting 1 = APIT, AIT
The name of the file that saves these settings can be changed in config.txt
([Interface] option = options.txt).
