In-Game Menu

The In-Game Menu will appear in the upper left corner of the application window once you have successfully connected to a server, or loaded a scenario offline. Many of the menu options will open sub-menus so that you can make further selections. A similar menu is also available once flight has started.

Start Flight.  Enter the scenario in your chosen plane.

Select Aircraft. This will bring you to a sub-menu that lets you select the Team, Mission, and airplane you want to fly. Depending on the scenario, there may be more than one mission, and more than one unit (type of airplane), per mission. If unit balancing is in effect for the mission, one or more units may be unavailable. In addition, some missions may be unavailable until others are filled to capacity. As you click down through team, mission, and unit, text briefings will be displayed for each (if available).

Select Options.  After you've selected your plane type, you may be able to outfit it with various weapons, rockets, bombs, extra fuel, etc. Some scenarios may be designed to disallow player selection of options, for gameplay or historical reasons.

Select Skin.  This allows you to choose different paint schemes.  The skins available for each aircraft may be limited by the scenario or server. If the list of skins is empty, then no extra skins are available for this aircraft. Check the web site of the Mod creators to see if additional skins are available for download.

Briefings. Allows you to access any text and visual briefings prepared for this scenario. See the section on Briefings for more information.

Help. This brings up the In Game Help system.

Settings. From here, you can view your current keyboard settings or remap keyboard and joystick functions from within the game.

Player List. Displays the names of all players logged into the game server you are playing on.

Hide Menu.  Remove the menu from the screen so you can move freely around the currently loaded terrain using the arrow keys. If you have a unit selected, your view will be centered on the airplane. Hit F5 to enable free-roaming.

Disconnect.  Returns you to the Main Menu.

In Flight Menu

Exit Plane. This is the 'bail out' option. If your plane is in an acceptable altitude and speed, you will begin the bail out process when you select this option.

Self Destruct. This will immediately destroy your plane.

The remaing options operate as described above.
